WHY IS THE FEMALE BODY

BEING CENSORED?

Our website - TheFemaleBody.com - along with dozens of individuals and brands working within the women’s health and FemTech industries, is being censored on social media. We're fighting back against the silencing of the female body.

Changing the law for the next generation of girls & women

Currently, over 40 specific words and phrases related to the female body have been identified as being systematically banned or restricted across digital platforms. It is not enough to simply flag to tech companies that they are censoring the female body, or ask them nicely if they will stop. They have already shown they won’t act.

We believe it is crucial for governments to step in and address the growing issue of censorship surrounding the female body online. These words are often flagged or removed without clear justification, limiting important conversations on topics such as body autonomy, health, and gender equality.

We are campaigning for legislative change that would protect these discussions and ensure that these words cannot be knowingly censored by social media platforms and other online spaces.

Our goal is to push for laws that hold digital platforms accountable, ensuring that content related to the female body - whether it's educational, artistic, or personal - is allowed to exist freely without fear of unfair censorship.

We want to see a clear and transparent set of guidelines for what can and cannot be removed, along with penalties for platforms that knowingly engage in biased censorship practices.

It’s time to create a digital landscape that values all bodies equally and upholds the freedom of expression for all users.
